Absolutely not, it all depends on how the guy carries himself, his self-esteem. If the guy is a little fat and not so good looking, but has great personality, he will have a good social life.

Men have the advantage here because for the most part women are much more attracted to personality than looks, whether they like it or not. Look at the French Prime Minister De Villepin, he is so cultured, wealthy, tall and handsome whilst tiny Sarkozy with his big nose is far more commanding and attractive because of his personality, he dominates his space and commands attention - ask any woman in France who is the most 'attractive' and it is likely to be the little chap. So it is something intangible rather than the physical which is the key to whether a man is sociably successful or not. Meanwhile we poor woman have to watch our power, our aura fade with each passing year.
