I am in Middle east and i keep reading in bits and pieces about President Chavez. What is he up to ? Is he figting for a right cause against USA or just another mad man worth not mentioning in History ?

Was Hitler just misunderstood? He is a greedy, hate-monger, with a vicious human rights history. His grandstanding against President Bush and the United States was an aggrandised effort to call attention to himself and poison world opinion. Venezuela is a poor third world country rich with resources that are spent to keep evil dictators like Chavez in power.

Hugo Chavez, top dog in Venezuela, is a tinhorn dictator, who is trying to lead that country on the same road to ruin as Castro led Cuba. There is some chance that he will succeed, notwithstanding Venezuela's petroleum stocks.

Many of his people are starving while his government makes billions selling oil.

With his oil wealth he has built new roads and schools and has created jobs for the poor and the poor people love him for this.
But he seems to have a mean streak and this could knock him out of the "Noble" box.

I do not think that he has anything against the people of the U.S. however he doesn't like our president, I have got to say I agree with him on that. But he is sending free and low cost heating oil to the needy in some parts of the U.S. that doesn't sound like a monster to me.

I think he is as good a politician as most, but he speaks for the millions of poor in the world who desperately need justice and an end to the pointless cycle of violence between Christians, Jews and Muslims. We need peace to save the starving and comfort the dying in their millions.

I have heard varying opinions about him and haven't had enough time to learn what I would be confident is the truth. He hates our Dictator Dumbya of the USA, so he can't be ALL bad. :-)
