Donald. Don't get me wrong, I love Kiefer as Jack Bauer. Jack is the man! But in terms of body of work, Donald has done great work in some great movies.....MASH, Klute, Ordinary People, Kelly's Heros, Animal House.....the list goes on and on.

Kiefer! Jack Bauer is my hero! Well, not really since he's only a character, but if the world was in danger I'd totally let Kiefer come to my rescue =). Don't get me wrong, Donald is great, I just think his days are numbered and Kiefer has a lot to deliver yet.

Kiefer has had more popularity and success in recent years. His 24 TV series is sensational! But he is a method actor...most of his roles and characters seem similar. While Donald is a character actor, which requires vastly more skill and ability. So based on the body of their work, I'd say the father is the major talent, taking nothing away from his talented son.

Donald, people would say Kiefer because of the popularity of that crap show he is on. But Donald has worked along side of some of best actors in history. Clint Eastwood, Robert Denero, etc.

I think they are both good actors but I would have to say Donald. He has played more diverse roles. Kiefer always seems to play some type of tough guy.

They're both excellent actors in their own right - but I'll have to go with Donald Sutherland. He's superlative! he's gotten so much better over the years - he was practically raw when he did MASH & has smoothed out (& gotten a lot better looking!!) with age. Keifer will most likely follow the same route as his dad & improve as he goes along - he does need to watch out about stereotyping roles - he tends to play/be the same character each time!

In my opinion Kiefer has not done anything big or successful as his father or even close to MASH which was a big success in its time and his father was younger then than Kiefer is or was when he started 24 which is a TV series not a movie ( big difference ).

They are both very talented actors, but Donald is the best of the two.....Keifer tends to stay with the same kind of roles, action type movies....not that it is a bad thing, he is a good actor, but his father is more well rounded and has played many different types of roles over the years.
