Cher looks like a tranny and sounds like a man LOL Plus, her daughter (well, she's a MAN now lol) was a lesbian. Madonna has supported gay rights, minority rights, and the gay community is where she got started with her career. All the people who kick started her career were all gay. She OWES the gay community everything ;-P Any female diva that can do disco/dance music automatically becomes a gay icon, too, because dance music is the music of choice in gay bars.

She's for human rights. This is a woman who all by herself created her empire. She helps everyone with a pulse not just gays. She's a legend. My philosophy of life goes like this: God 1st always. There no way you could go wrong. Then Madonna, cause it's rare She does anything wrong. Then everyone else-so there's no jealousy. Tom Welling fits in there some were, but I'm not sure where...

She's a highly intelligent, successful, dedicated and driven individual. . .she's an icon for many people, not just gay people. However, if you think back to the 80's and remember cher, madonna and cindy lauper, they all were a bit "outside of the norm", a little flamboyant, and had very danceable music. . ..a possible connection? Yeah, I think so.

because of the documentary that she did back in the 80's of herself, it was then she became publicy known as bisexual......so I would assume that is the reason why.
