With today's rates, you can pretty much halve it! - I'd say around £6,250 net.

Currently, 1 US dollar is equivalent to .5355 British Pounds.
At this rate, US$ 12,500 would be equal to UK 6,693.26 pounds.
I have no way of knowing what type of fees you will pay.

which bank transfers your money to your uk account and 2nd which bank you having your account with in the uk.
