Fazer, Cloetta and Marabou all make really good chocolate - I can recommend them all. Scandinavian chocolate is very creamy and smooth, compared to a lot of chocolate in the US.

As for foods, we have cuisine from all over the world, so you can pretty much find anything you want. In terms of traditional Swedish food, what we call "husmanskost", I personally like meatballs with lingonberries (sort of similar to cranberries in taste, but much smaller and a little sweeter), schnitzel (breaded veal), falukorv (a type of sausage), salmon and crayfish.

If you're feeling adventurous, try the pickled herring which comes in many different varieties, blodpudding (blood pudding) with lingonberries, pitepalt (boiled balls of mashed potatoes with pork or ground beef inside), the caviar spread for sandwiches (Kalles kaviar) or to put on boiled eggs, or moose steak. As a foreigner, though, don't let anyone con you into trying surströmming - it's fermented fish, it stinks to high heaven, and tastes even worse!

Enjoy your visit!
