people the "bling" has nothing to do with it. its all about selling units of records. just look at the list. 2pac is the only on that even comes close. just because the spend all of their money trying to impress everyone, doesnt make them bigger earners.


isaman, you can certainly disagree, I already thought of that however. From a statistical point of view you can only look to the list, for potential, well that is another story altogether. I guess you'll have to look at this list in another 30 years and see if the rappers are at the top. I seriously doubt it. top 40 type music will always be up there. many rappers are in the top 40, but many more arent.

I would disagree with Bistro about that list, only because most of those groups near the top have been around for 30+ years. 50 Cent sold almost a million albums in the first week when he released Get Rich or Die Tryin', so I think a rapper could make far more money, especially because rap appeals to both the suburban and urban demographic. That and rock n' roll died in the 80's.

Well if you are smart enough to get good management and good financial advisors and dont pull a M C Hammer, both genres can get make a great living.
