My god daughter just recently had a baby....She is 19 years old without a job, staying at home with mom, but is in need for some assistance. She has no car. Her mom hardly ever helps her. She went to apply for assistance, but for some reason she did not qualify....Her mom is receiving child support from her father....Can anyone tell me how is it possible for her to receive any help from the government until she gets on her own two feet.....State Of Indiana.....

Her mother should not be receiving the child support for her anymore considering she has a baby of her own now. She needs to have the child support put into her own name now provided she is still in school ( she will only receive support if she remains in school until she is 21). There are organizations that will help her to get a car, maybe check your local social services. I see that you said she does not qualify for help, she can reapply every month and needs to take all monthly income statements that would help them assess her income. If she is not with the father of the baby she should apply for child support. Your local social services will also help with child care so that she can get a job and try to do right for her and the baby. It would help for her to take a note in saying that she pays some kind of rent where she is staying if indeed that is the case. Tell her to pray and good things will happen for her and her baby.

She should look at the WIC (women, infants and children)program. They may be able to help with some medical needs or food.
