I have not read A Million Little Pieces, but it seems to be an in your face kind of book. Along those lines, I liked Everything is Illuminated by Jonathan Safran Foer. You may also like Purple Hibiscus: A Novel by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie which is a very startling, ethically confusing book that deals with abuse. Another good one is Autobiography of a Face by Lucy Grealy. I am the same age as you and have found these books to be on an appropriate level for me to read and enjoy.
There are tons of books and you can go to your local library and I'm sure they can help point you to more. Also, Amazon lists books that are similar to the one you are interested in if you go there. Good luck and happy reading.

I read a lot of YA books even though I am an adult (27). And I have read a lot of page-turning books in the past few years. My personal favorites would probably be Twilight by Stephenie Meyer which I think has definitely been embraced by teens and adults. Blue Bloods by Melissa De La Cruz is another recent favorite of mine. And Peeps by Scott Westerfeld was definitely a fast read--very exciting.

"By The Great Horn Spoon" by Sid Fleischman (also published as Bullwhip Griffin) is a great story about a young runaway boy and his family's butler who stow away aboard a ship bound for the California gold rush in 1849. Not only is it fun and heartwarming, but adventurous and educational as well!
Or, almost any good STAR TREK novel is worth the read. I would recommend one called Strangers From The Sky by Margaret Wander Bonanno.
And, of course, The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton.

I like Dean Koontz as an author. I like "Watchers" best by him. It's an older book but still really good.
I'm currently reading some science fiction by Kim Harrison, "Dead Witch Walking"
Stephen King - any of the Dark Tower books.
John Saul - "Second Child", psycho book, but very good.
or same author but the title of the book is "Manhattan Hunt Club" wow was that one good.
Clive Barker - Thief of Always
Let me know if you are looking for any more information on any of these books. Have fun reading. :)

I really don't know any books like that.
I myself love Horror and Sic-Fi.
You should try some thing like the Narnia series, now those are great books!
Then there's Harry Potter. Or you could try Steven King's books.
But it's up to you. Just lok around, you'll find something that grabs your eye :)

The last two memorable books I read were "The Life of Pi" and "The Kite Runner", if you leave out the kids books I like to read. "Eragon", "Harry Potter", "Series of Unfortunate Events" etc.
