When would be a good time to buy? I was thinking of waiting for the end of season sale in December/January. What price would be a good deal?

Yes, you can get good deals at Macy's after Christmas. A good price for a cashmere sweater would be around $50. Also try TJ Maxx. They have terrific prices.

Right now, they are regular price, because they have just been introduced for the season - priced $99 and up. One day sales would be a good time to check in.
The one thing that you need to keep in mind is that once the cashmeres start going on sale, everyone buys them. Leaving a crummy selection to choose from. They don't usually go on sale until after the holidays - they are great "stocking stuffers"

Yes, Macy's sells quality cashmere, don't buy the really cheap stuff from stores like Target or even the Gap (I check these out). They are not worth it.
