The way this government is going I worry more about it than any terrorist. In the end this government will end up being a terrorist to its people.

It is a fine line for me. What you are discussing is Liberty/Patriot II.

In our hotly contested political climate, I fear in the wrong hands free speech could become "hate speech" or be considered terroristic activity. But under the auspices of a DC system, activity and membership in certain organizations could be construed as "Anti-American" when in fact it is free speech against (whatever political pole exists in DC as the time) .

I host a couple of websites that are SSL protected, and until I am given a subpoena to turn over records it will be a cold day in hell before they get anything on any member.

I believe terrorism is a very real threat, and monitoring can be done of systems without our knowledge or approval. I believe if conversations originate from IPs outside the US the monitoring will go on whether we know it or not.

I am guarded about what I type and to whom. Monitoring is a state of fact for many businesses and service entities.
If I don't want it part of my employers permanent record swamp I do Phone or F2F conversations.

Truthfully I think MOST terrorist groups follow similar tacts, some idiots get caught because they don't realize someone might be listening.

Call me paranoid Right wing fringe if you will, but the fact is Big Brother IS watching and has been watching since 1993 courtesy of the Bill Clinton DOJ.

I worry about domestic spying more under a Democrat in office then I do a Republican. I am Libertarian and trust neither truthfully.

Figures - the current administration is a wolf in lamb cloth.
They claim to be conservatives & protectors of the Constitution but their actions say otherwise.
The House and the Senate should actually pass laws to protect our citizens on the internet instead of ordering BLANKET recording of all citizens internet activity.
What's next? Calling on all groceries to record all of our vegetable purchases?

I'm not as worried about terrorists as much as i am worried about the American government. I bet Bin Laden would at least have a cup of tea with me and ask my opinion. Where is the freedom in that?
