I have a:
Dell DHM
Pentium 4
1.6 GHZ
256 MB ram
XP home edition
ATI All-In Wonder (I believe 7600 model)
DVD Burner
CD Burner
111G HD
40 G HD
I don't play a lot of games, but I would like to play games like Myst and Riven (already played these though, so newer games like this) and although I have an ATI All-In_wonder TV tuner and this works well, my video card will not support some games. I have done some external mods to my PC and plan on doing more, but I want to know how far can i expand this PC? i.e. Video card (keep in mind I don't want to lose TV tuning capability)? Also my RAM? 256MB blows. If I run more than a couple apps, I'm creeping along. Any other hardware I should get? I would like to spend $500 to $1500 on upgrades. Is this possible?

I would go to 1GB or RAM if possible, get a new video card, and also a new power supply, because your power supply will probably not support a newer card. Incidentally, you could buy a new computer for about $1000 that would be a lot better than just trying to upgrade this one. (Your current processor is going to be a big limiting factor when it comes to games) If you need further help, please feel free to email me.

Just maybe the RAM. Possibly to 512mb or 1gb?

Video card, although your video tuning card should be separate.

Its in better spec then mine for sure!

Upgrade one piece at time and see if you see any results. I'd start with upgrading your memory to at least 1gb.
