MIX A SOLUTION OF 1 CUP OF WHITE VINEGAR AND 1/2 CUP OF WATER IN A SPRAY BOTTLE AND SPRAY SURFACES. MAKE SURE TO TEST CARPET AND APHOLSTRY IN A SMALL AREA FIRST FOR COLOR FASTNESS. IF ALL LOOKS WELL PROCEED WITH THE CARPET AND APHOLSTRY. THE ANT'S DON'T LIKE THE SMELL OF THE VINEGAR AND WILL MORE THAN LIKELY MOVE ON OUT. SINCE YOUR PREGNANT THIS REMEDY IS SAFE FOR YOU AND BABY TOO. GOOD LUCK!!

First I doubt if the color has anything to do with it because the olive green and dark green cars would also attract them since the color is close. Also you would hear similar stories from other owners of black cars. I have had black cars and didn't have that problem so I think you can rule out the color. It could be something as stupid as having something hidden within the headlner from the factory. Believe me it wouldn't be the first time. Factory workers have a habit of doing stupid things during the assembly process just as a prank (even sticking a well chewed piece of gum to the inner roof prior to installation of the headliner). I say headliner because it seems like they are after something at the top of the car. Ants will come from miles if they sense certain substances. Talk to the manager of the service department at your dealership and maybe they will be willing to pull the headliner and have a look. Also it could just be because the Lexus is a sweet ride!. .... sorry, my bad. PS, why do you have so many cars anyway? Who are you ....... Jay Leno?

I have a new car, and small ants have taken over. Needless to say, I am not happy. I called a trusted pest control company. Guy came out and found infestation in my home as well. He put bait in the car. Ants are in interior and in the engine. He did tell me NOT to bomb and fumagate as that might hurt the carpet and leather. Better to fix the problem over the course of few days than do long term damage to car. Good luck with your problem and let me know what works for you. I'll check back in to report on my efforts.

I had fire ants in my car, & my local extension services told me what to do. Frist, do away with all food in car, then sprinkle a large box of baking soda around on floor and seats. It will not hurt the seats, and it may take more than one box, but it worked for me, and I had them very bad. Good luck

Gosh I have never heard of such a thing! You can call a pest control company. The one we use has a non-chemical formula he uses. I believe he said it was made out of chrysanthemums. Maybe they could spray your car for you. Good luck, and congrats on the pregnancy.
