the reason is simple...to avoid an internal/external conflict. when a individual decides to say, accept the ruben vs. the turkey and swiss from a waiter...when the turkey and swiss was ordered...the person is going to eventually do something that....well...they really don't want to do. why do they do this? well, the motives could be countless...some include not wanting to get the waiter in trouble, they are pressed for time (in es-sense feeling time is more important than getting what they want), or maybe they wish not to appear as a confrontational "angry person". this is a simple example that reinforces a case where ones own "conscious will" can easily be dictated and reinforced by previous learned behavior as to the sub-conscious...as to what is acceptable....and the fact is... what is acceptable is a bi-product of an individuals life experiences and social learning. The bottom line, is that people do what they don't want because they believe that sacrifice is more important than speaking out, based completely on conflict avoidance. Because it might be better for them in the long run...
If you eat your greens even if you dont want to, you will grow up strong and healthy, just like Popeye the sailor man!
If you study and work hard even if you dont want to, you will have more options available to you in the future!
If you brush your teeth every day and night, even though you dont want to, you will have fewer cavities!
In conclusion, people do things for their benefit

It's the nature of human beings to have a clash of wills, that's why we are gifted with the ability to choose and sometimes we make bad decisions and end up doing things we don't wanna.

That would depend- I pay taxes and I don't want to, why? cause I'm not really fond of the consequences of not doing it.
each time someone does something they don't want to do probably has it's own reason.....
