do other people feel that the period of transition in age from early twenties to early thirties is one of the?

of the most surreal and strange asjustments in your life.
at age 21 i was still in college and active within a fraternity, going out several nights a week and being generally a wild, college kid. from there, you transition to the work force and then graduate school. things continue to change and next thing you know you are married with kids. do many people sit there in their early 30s and just cant figure out "what the heck happened to my 20's?"
you sort of try and trace back how the time went by and what happened when and it just feels surreal. i cant imagine the transition from 30s to 40s would be nearly as surreal. how do others feel about this?

You feel the same way I did. I remember breaking down and crying my eyes out on my 30th BD, but my 40th didn't phaze me.
From teens thru 20s you feel ALIVE and your friends are usually still around, you are loaded with energy & then all of a sudden youre not under 30 anymore! You're over thirty and it feels so weird!!! 40 just feels like an extention of 30, but from 29 to 30 is weird!
You begin to look back and ask " what did I accomplish? ", why did I do this or that, where did the time go ???
And then you turn 50 & say " WHAT ????? I CANNOT BE 50 !!!! That's old !!!" How did I ever think 30 was old !!!! That was 20 years ago, I was young & didn't even realize it !!! If only I could be 30 AGAIN !!!!"

I know where my 20's went - they went into studying and probably too much drinking.

nothing surreal about growing up and taking care of business. i think the transition in the early 20s was the most surreal - because it wasn't reality. it was a quasi-reality.

The life I have now *I* built it. ME. I got myself here. My parents can't take credit, the cozy little sheltered college life is GONE. I much prefer reality.
