That's more or less what every country is founded on. To found a country (a place for a nation to be), you must to clear the land of racial competitors. Then you must organize the people sufficiently to get them pulling for a common political cause, and for that purpose religion can be handy. And you must have a way to quell serious dissent.
Everybody knows that George Washington fought against England in the Revolutionary War and that the Revolutionary War was partly justified because of "Taxation without Representation." But did you also know that when certain Appalachian farmers rebelled against the new US government FOR THE SAME REASON, the same George Washington was sent galloping over the hills at the head of the army to hang the "traitorous" farmers?
So, yeah. Once King George III wasn't pushing us around anymore, a different guy immediately stepped in and took his place to do the pushing. It's always that way, or else you don't have a country.

If you are willing to accept this then you are more dangerous than any liberal I know. Accepting so called facts like these would be to just ignore the injustices of a govt that works for us and is paid for by our hard earned tax dollars. It sounds like your conservatism is based on a complete sense of hopelessness to seek justice in our world. Why can't conservatives accept that they are on their way out and it will be a long, long time before they regain control of our govt after they have caused so much destruction and made us all look like a bunch of stupid, alchoholic coke head cowboys in the eyes of the rest of the world.

This country was not founded on the basis of doing dirty work for a certain other country.
The founding fathers were fighting a big fat overbearing king.
They were not fighting for a certain country in the middle east.
Look around! Does this country resemble the shell of itself from the days of the colonies? The founding fathers are rolling in their graves to be sure!

I think all Liberals like myself know that hate and killing has been the foundation of American culture and that the psudo-christian history is a fable. Yes, we know that.
Are conservatives assuming that this is the way the world should work? If not, are they all feeling so powerless that they feel there is no hope for change? Do conservatives think that hate is the inevitable fate of the world? Yes, of course they do. They think the world is soon to be totally destroyed by fire.
That's why I'm a liberal. I don't vote for destruction by fire. I have hope for the future and feel confident enough to believe that change can be made. I do accept the evils of the past. I vote to not repeat it.

Why would anyone accept those as the foundation of America? Even religion which many would support as a cornerstone of American values is superseded by the Constitution in America.

American was not founded "on" killings, religion and pushing people around. It was founded "because others" were killing, interfering with freedom of religion and pushing people around. That is why the drafted the constitution to prevent such abuses.

I always thought this country was founded on free-trade, proper representation, and freedom to worship without the state's interference. Funny how things get twisted around.
