One major criticism of the skeptical argument would be to point out that skepticism itself is questionable. How do you KNOW that you do NOT know that, say, 2+2=4? To claim that you do not know that 2+2=4 is to make a knowledge claim - you are claiming to know that you do not know...but why should we believe this claim to not know any more than the claim that we do know? Skepticism is self-defeating in this way.

He argues that we should suspend judgment about virtually all beliefs, that is, to neither affirm any belief as true nor deny any belief as false. This view is known as Pyrrhonic skepticism
