Is The ACT really as hard as people say?

I've heard that the ACT was extremely hard. I have to take it soon and I have to have atleast a 17 on the Reading portion. Please if you have any info about the the ACT will you tell me.

For me the ACT was easier than the SAT and I got a significantly higher score. But I took the test 10 years ago so they may have beefed up the test since then.

Hello, well the ACT Test to get into College is not as difficult as some people may say. The test consists of four sections; sciences and social sciences. Within the sciences section they may use, math, biology, chemistry, or physics. and in other sections reading, or a portion that explains a situation and they ask you to answer questions pulling the answer out of the essay given to you. The goal of the test is to test problem solving skills by the amount of correct or incorrect answers you give and how you pay attention to detail. Review most of the problem solving techniques you know and relax. It can be disastrous when you see the test and all the answers fly out of your head due to stress or anxiety. Remain calm and get a good night's sleep before the exam and this can assist you in thinking rationally during the test.

I took both the SAT's and ACT's recently. I received about the same score ranges on both tests. The ACT's measure more of what you learned throughout high school, which is why I found that test to be a bit easier, especially the math sections. Take a look at some practice tests and see for yourself.

If you grew up with the type of education that the test caters to, then you shouldn't have a problem at all.
