To the other side of the ocean, there they are having their high tides, or the tide is "coming in".

Dear Sonny: I have been out of school many, many years. I can't say that I truly know the answer to your question, but I wanted to try and use some logic regarding the question you have posed. Please tell me if I came close, or I am right or wrong. You can leave a comment when you have resolved the question. This is what my senses tell me:

The tide is dependent on pulls, gravitational pulls with planetary influence. I always heard the Moon influences the tides. ?
I feel that when the ocean tides are coming in or going out, it would be the same universally - occurring as incoming or low tide - UNIFORMLY throughout the oceans of the world , BUT for the fact that the earth is also ROTATING as well as spinning on its axis. Due to the rotation, part of the world is experiencing planetary influence and gravitational pulls at different times from the other side of the globe. This would cause a shifting of the waters from one side to the other in a seesaw effect. One side has low tide, and the other has high tide, until rotation reshifts the balance again. ??

I've gone out on a limb, here, as you can see since I have no background in my schooling on this subject and did not run to Wikipedia for the answer! Would love to understand this!

the tide rises in another part of the world.this means there there always 2 high tides and 2 low tides

When it's going out in one place, it is going in at another place. Just like rocking a glass back and forth. It's high on one side, then the other.

Tides are affected by the moon's orbit and the Sun

So, often I see questions from people where if they had given it just a little thought they could have worked it out.

I think the kids are not being encouraged to think these days.
