I Voted for Ronald Reagan and the First George Bush. But I did not Vote for George W. Bush because I felt (as I still do) that he wanted to be President for his own personal gain and Glory. So I voted Democrat. Am I still a Republican?

You sound like a guy that thinks about how to vote. That's better than a political affiliation.

I consider myself Democrat but I voted for Reagan in 1980.

I don't think so. Despite his many personal flaws, Richard Nixon was the last President with traditional Republican values. In addition to a strong defense, he championed fiscal responsibility, a healthy environment, living wages for the middle class, and negotiation before war.

Nixon was in the mold of another great Republican, Dwight David Eisenhour.

Bush, DeLay and Gingrich aren't Republicans. They're trash. I'm sad over what's become of a once great party.

You are an american. It is your choise to vote as you choose. Don't let anyone tell you any diferent. The hole problem with the american voting system is democrats and republicans. We don't need parties we just need good people. Get rid of all the politicians in office now from bush to hillary clinton and things will get better. Put farmers, doctors, and plant workers in there and they will do the best job they can. We don't need career politicians we need americans in the drivers seat.

The best way to tell if your a Republican would be to take a look at some of the key issues on the Republican list and see how you feel about them. I find that I am often split on issue and do not consider myself one way or another, instead I look at the issues and the party representatives and choose individually.

You voted for Al Gore or John Kerry? Thats a 180 turn from Republican, I'd say you don't really understand the constitution or what Republic vs Democracy entails.

Why the need to label yourself and box yourself into a political party? Being a certain party isn't about who you voted for but what your core values are. If you believe in lower taxes, less government, smaller government, property rights, and personal responsibility (among other things) then you are a republican.

Go to www.politicalcompass.org and take the test, those whose side more with Bush and the neo-cons will be happy to know they are politically similar to Hitler.

Yes, you are true to your convictions and will not vote blindly for somebody who claims to be Republican.
