You're nenver too old to learn something new. Maybe you won't be able to catch up to all the greats who started out very young, but who knows................you could discover an incredible talent in yourself and become the greatest violin player of your generation. Give it a try, you won't know what's going to happen until you do.

It is never too late, but your success will depend on how good your ear is. When you're playing violin it is essential to have a good ear since you are creating the pitch, ie you have to hear that you are playing the right note, since there is no one fret or key for every note like on a guitar or piano. If you have a hard time producing the right note you need to pratice your ear. There are several ear-training exercises and even courses you can check out. Playing violin helps you develop a good ear, but sometimes you need special exercises. Good luck!

how fun, go for it!! My 18 year old son just asked me if he could have a cello and a didgeridoo and asked his grandma to make him a kilt! I sure wish I was young enough to join this band too. It is true all great people started at birth BUT some of them don't figure that out until they're 19! Go be great!

It depends what you want to do with it. It's a little late if you want to major in it at a college. But its never too late to learn to play for entertainment , or enjoyment. It depends on how enthusiastic you are,how much you practice, how bad you want to learn, and your determination. You can also learn to play it in a church, club or something. I knew of someone in his 70's that started learning the violin. I also knew of someone in her 30's beginning to learn.
You should give it a try if your interested.

Your never too old to start a new instrument. It may be a little more difficult for you to pick it up as easily as somebody younger can. But your still pretty young, and if you practice you can be just as good as anyone else. Some talents are perfected through practice.

ABSOLUTELY NOT! The desire is what is important and the amount of time you devote to it. Look what Grandma Moses accomplished in her eighties. Go for it . . it will make you happy. Do not hesitate. You may never be great but then how will you know if you never try . . don't regret later on for not trying. 19 is very young to accomplish all sorts of things ahead of you. God bless.

You can learn at any age but honestly, you'll never become a virtuoso. You missed the boat. Just learn to play for fun or for family and friends.

You are never to old to start learning anything. Granted it gets a little harder to learn, but that means you just have to work harder (smarter as my Grandma likes to say) at what you want to accomplish. Also get a good teacher.

you are never to old enough to learn. the only thing that stops people is themselves. if you work hard enough youcould do it. just have faith. probably even in the future, you will become one of the great violinist and you will have something extra you started at later in live.
