I'm wondering if I go through the motions long enough, if I can fall in love.

It might be a good thing to try to avoid divorce.

No! you cant..never be with someone and think you'll grow to love them.Didnt work for me..i regret it so much. How i wish i could turn back time..Love is a wonderful feeling..dont deprieve yourself & ur partner of this..Everyone deserve to love & be loved. You have to love them from the start instead of thinking you could grow to love them.

It didn't work for me. I always thought with enough determination and will power that it would...but a messy divorce has proved me wrong. Now that I am out of that relationship, I see how wonderful true love really is and how it could never be forced. There are just some feelings and motions you can't force upon anyone, including yourself.

There is a difference between someone growing on you (ie. you get to know them and realize they're funny, kind, etc, and start becoming more attracted to the person on the inside) and forcing yourself to fall in love. You will grow a resentment toward them and will always have a guilty conscience if you force yourself. If you are not 100% sure about who you're with, don't settle. Someone is out there for you. As cliche as that sounds, it's true.

You can't force love. You mention something about avoiding divorce. So iIf you're in a marriage that's having trouble, ask yourself if you ever really loved him at all. If so, focus on what made you attracted to him, what made you love him in the beginning. Look at old photos and videos, read old love letters.

You should never force yourself to fall in love. One thing that i've been told growing up but not practicing. Is that marriage is friendship, instead of lovers. If your not in love your not in love. There was something about this special person, for the fact that you married this person.

Forcing yourself to love someone is not only unfair to that person, but also to you. If you didn't like apples you wouldn't force yourself to love them, right? It hurts to tell someone that you don't love them, but both of you will be happier in the long run if you make it clear now.

unfortunatly, you can't make yourself fall in love with someone.... that one be anyones dream. All you can do is try and figure out why you are together... Find any good points... maybe become better friends and perhaps...something can spark and maybe something will happen... but that's a lot of maybes. Goodluck

Well it takes hard work. I honestly don't always love my husband every single minute but I think about the positive things and yes I can kind of feel love. I totally understand your question and yes I think you can.
