Most of the answers are dealing with child support, NOT alimony, there is a difference you know between the two. Child support is paid until the children reach 18, out of school or graduate college depending on the agreement the judge drew up.

You pay until they are no longer in school, or 18 depending on your circumstance. But if you have children who are planning on university or college, he has to continue to help you as long as they are in school and in your care (unless they also get a job while in school, then I think he can either stop or drastically lower the payments). I think the tap runs dry though at 25. That's how it is where I live and that's what my lawyer told me.

That is totally up to the judge usually. My mother got it for 3 years after 30 years of marriage.
