Chevron has the biggest ship in the world (oil tanker) That is based on tonnage, not length, I can't remember the name but it can't make it in to the Los Angeles/Long Beach harbor. The QM2 is the largest cruise ship

Worlds biggest oil tanker is the Jahre Viking 1,503 feet long 564,763 tonnes and takes 13 miles to stop 5 miles to turn around . No port in the world is big enough for it to dock so it loads and unloads at sea

I know this. It used to be the Queen Mary.
But they built a bigger one called the Queen Mary 2.

My parents were married on the original Queen Mary. I dont have any sources but check the history channel. They did an episode on it a while back.

ROB C and Y - HAW are talking about the same ship. and indeed she is THE BIGGEST. all these names are because of the changes in ownership. now she is being used as a storage tanker and is stationed somewhere near Hormuz.

I think that you should look at this page from the Wiki...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_world's_largest_ships

It will clear up most of the size issues. QM2 is not even close to the largest cruise liner.
