My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant now for three years. I have started going to my ob/gyn. He thinks its my hormonal inbalance (i know its part of it), but i also had stomach surgery when I was 15. I think I have scar tissue covering my flopian tubes. But he doesnt think so. And he wants to send me to a fertility specialist but he said if its too much on us that he can do a prescription for Clomid. My fear is having a ecotopic pregnancy if I get on that. I have a few questions

1. How do you get your doctor to see your point of view?
2. Does anyone know any insurance that covers infertility in Michigan?
3. Has anyone ever been on Clomid?? What are the side effects?
4. Any website addresses releated to infertility insurance for Michigan??

Maybe you should try a different doctor. If you are not comfortable with your doctor, then how can you discuss your problems. His recommendation to see a Fertility Specialist is a great idea though. You need to determine for a fact what is causing your infertility. If you believe that you have problems with your tubes, then Clomid is not going to help you.

My Ob-Gyn put me on Clomid for three cycles before I went to see a Specialist. Then my Specialist informed me that the Clomid actually set me back several months. (It caused my uterine lining to decrease in thickness each month that I was on it.)

Your visits to the Fertility Specialist can be expensive. Always check with your insurance carrier prior to your appointment for pre-qualification. If your insurance doesn't cover you, then try other options. Check out this website: http://www.capitalonehealthcarefinance.com/fertility/
You can finance your fertility treatments through them for very low rates and low monthly payments. (That is what my husband and I did).

Good Luck!!!

Did your doctor do an ultrasound to find out about the scarring? Ask him again to check for this and if he refuses then you may want to seek out another doctor. I was on Clomid for 3 months (100mg each) but did not ovulate with it. The only side effects that I had on it were a few hot flashes. I took it at night before going to bed so they didn't really bother me. I don't know about insurance in Michigan but I know that no company in Kentucky covers infertility. The Clomid is the most inexpensive form of fertility drugs, in Ky its $40.00 for 10 pills. Hope this helped a little, good luck ttc

Well, the only way to tell if there is scaring on your fallopian tubes is to get a pelvic ultra sound. I would ask for that.
I can't answer any of your other questions but I have been on Clomid several times and have never had any side effects.

sure I in lots of cases sense blessed that our kin has grown this way! i become Blessed to be waiting to grant beginning as quickly as, yet now i'm two times blessed to have 2 perfect daughters by using adoption! i'm not sure we could have fostered or accompanied if we had not had infertility issues, yet now i can not think of our existence while not having enjoyed all of those magnificent young toddlers! God is stable!!
