Who is " they" I see shows about black american families on TV all the time.

I would imagine it's because they're trying to show a "typical" family in every way. "Typically" means the majority, and the majority of the population is white.
Black people, hispanics, Asians, Native American, Middle Eastern people, etc. are the minority, just like families with 1 child or 4 or more children are in the minority.
I don't think it's a blatent attempt to exclude or not recognize the minorities (even if I think it's not fair), if a typical family is being shown, white families with 2 or 3 children are the majority.
It is true that white people in America are the majority. That may not mean that there are more white people than all the other groups combined, but I don't think anyone can honestly argue that they are the majority.

i dont see that anymore, If you say like the american dream from the 60's yes it would be a white family with two kids but now a days, I see commercials that have all different colors of people.

Too true, no idea, racism? Maybe. Ignorance, probably. What the majority of America accepts, more than likely. But I am sure white america is no longer in the majority. Or slowly is becoming mixed with other races.

they don't. ever hear of family matters, cosby show, the jeffersons, bernie mac, good times, or fresh prince??
plus i see many commercials that portray black families moving into a house or driving a car and etc.
i think you just hate the fact that ANY white family is shown at all.

I've wondered this too... but my guess is that the majority of people in the US are white... but that's a guess.

You are right, it is racial segregation. However, the 'first' people to come here were white Europeans and Scandinavians...
