I am a sophomore at UNC-Greensboro and I am majoring in nursing. I knew it would be challenging but I didn't know it was this competitive to get into the program. I am thinking about changing my major to dental hygiene and going to UNC-Chapel Hill to get a bachelor degree in it. I feel I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. Will I have a better chance at DH than nursing? Is one harder than the other? I really need some valuable advice!

Hygienist school would be MUCH easier, but nursing pays better. You just have to decide what you want more, the money or an easy time in school.

Not unless you want to be limited in your options. Ask what future options there would be with either of the two fields and compare that with long term goals. Don't let money entice you away from the activities that you would love. Get UNCG career testing done to see where your interests best fit the careeer to which you aspire.

Dental hygiene is also a competitive field, but, can be very lucrative. You may want try looking in to different fields of therapy. Speech and occupational therapy are fields that can be high paying and are in great demand.

DHY is probably harder than nursing. There are less schools that teach it so i think that is why the programs are harder. Dont go into DHY if you cant handle nursing.
