could be quite a number of things....first thing that comes to mind is a weak fuel pump or dirty fuel filter. Have you had a tune up when it was supposed to? That can cause problems if you have not.

It is either a clogged fuel line or filter. It may also be a bad fuel pump. I would start by replacing the fuel filter (easy). If that doesn't fix the problem, by some fuel system cleaner and run it through the system on idle for awhile to see if there is any improvement. If you still have problems, call a mechanic.

i had this problem one time with a mercury i drove....would run for a while but as soon as i would put it in drive it would die...i worked at a garage at the time and they all said it had to be the fuel injectors.....i went and put in more gas and it was fine...my gas guage was about a 1/4 tank off from what i actually had.....you might want to try adding gas and then maybe check the fuel injectors!!!

We had that problem last week. It ended being that both the alternator was not pumping enough juice and then in turn was causing one of my relays to give out. We replaced the relay (which we thought was the initial problem) then had to replace the alternator.
