Abraham Lincoln was the president. He gave a speech on June 16, 1858 at a Republican Convention. Lincoln was commenting on a Supreme Court decision (the Dred Scot decision) which Lincoln feared would permit slavery to become established in all states. The speech he gave became known as the "House Divided Speech." (The quote: "If a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand" is from the Bible, see Mark 3:25).

Obama is doing a great job failing without any help from the Republicans It is actually Obama who has been turning groups of Americans against each other but that's what community organizers do. Maybe next time we should elect someone who will be a President and not a community organizer
