What is the cheapest, realiable way to import a package from the United States into the UK (taking into consideration customs tax, etc.)?

Depending upon the weight of your package, you'll have the following three options:
Global Priority, which takes 3-7 business days.
Airmail Letter Post (which is fine even if it's not a letter), which takes 4-10 days.
Economy Surface Post, which takes 4-7 weeks.....very slow but very cheap.

For exact costs, go to the link below, click on Calculate Postage, then click International. Select United Kingdom or Great Britain as your destination, add in the weight of the package and you will see your shipping choices and costs.

The recipient of the package usually pays customs.

Post is cheapest if not too big duty is the same for whatever it is !
Be aware that the value you declare + postage counts as the duty payable ( inclusive) amount ,I find it a real con because the higher you set the value of the contents ,for insurance,the more duty you pay !

Depends what your shipping and how big it is. Royal Mail is probably the cheapest devlierer and by airmail.

sorry, short of smuggling stuff in over the waters (which is done quite requently, there is none! customs will have their way with you and sometimes you'll have a good day and some times you'll have a rotten one!!

i wish there were better answers for you!!
