Stop doing hyperextensions and crunches, but can harm you lower back... try the exercises I've attached instead ;) start slowly!

first give yourself some recovery time
try 15 -20 min of ice to relive /reduce pain after exercise...
15 – 20 min of heat for morning stiffness ;)

If your pain doesn't show any signs of improving after 3days of rest, applying cold and hot packs, and taking pain relievers, it's time to see a doctor
See a doctor right away.. if you have weakness in the limbs or numbness and tingling constant or intense pain¸ pain that spreads down one or both legs, bladder or bowel problems, stomach pain.

I had the same problem, you should first go to your doctor and ask him for some advise. He may give you a prescription for some anti inflamatories and pain killers and he may also tell you to have an x-ray done of your lower back,so he can dicard any lesion due to any stressful force or anything like that. it may also have to do something with the sciatic nerve.

I have the same symptoms whenever i have bad posture for extended hours in front of my computer due to overworking. It could be as simple as making sure your back is straight during work hours....if not, it might be the way you overwork yourself carrying heavy loads or vacuuming with a hunched back, causing strain to your lower back. If it persists for more than a few days or gets worse, see a back/spine specialist.

Try sleeping with a pillow under your knees. You have to sleep on your back to do it, but it really reduces low back pain. If that doesn't help, then you should see you doctor. They can send you to a physical therapist who can teach you special exercises.
