please provide repair instructions for solving my trashed emails that I cannot go back and refer to.

That means that the setting are that they get deleted right away. You will have to go to your options and fix it so that they go to your deleted folder instead of deleting right away!

Ok. First bring up your email program. Then click on "tools" and go down to "settings". Click on the tab that says "maintenance". You want to UN-check the box that says " delete messages from the trash folder when exiting". That will solve your problem.

As far as I know, if you open an email then delete it itss gone for good. But if you delete it without opening it, it go's to your trash

Never delete just create a folder to move them into after youi have read them
