I am in the process of applying for my NJ Pistol carry permit and I have to write a letter (SPECIFICALLY) stating why I need to carry my weapon while visiting the state. I own a business and frequently make deliveries and pick ups in our company truck, the items I am delivering or picking up relate to traffic control devices and although valuable; I don't know if that flies as a real excuse.
But even if it did; I need more concrete reasons and "Self Defense" is way out of the question. . . anyone got any ideas? Serious answers please?? NJ residents a bonus. Cheers

NEW JERSEY IS THE MOST CORRUPT STATE IN THE UNION!

Good luck, getting a CCW in New Jersey is almost impossible if you are not a celebrity or well connected. After non famous people do not value their lives.

I live in a shall issue state. I do not need to give a reason. I honestly think it would be easier to get the law changed than to get your permit in Jersey.

It's not about how old you are. New Jersey is not a "shall issue" state. They make a practice of depriving you of your civil rights. What it is about is who you know. If you know the right people, you can get anything you want in New Jersey.

gun control in New jersey is very strict. i live around jersey, and the authorities of having possesions of firearms are tough, which i think its a great thing, our crime % has gone down.
hope u can find a good reason, cause self defense is not really gonna cut it.

You are not a resident, don't hold your breath. I was in themilitary and they refused me a permit when I was stationed there. Even California gave me a permit, but not tax to death NJ.

Well, why do you think you need to carry a gun?

If it's not a very strong reason, why do you really need to carry one?

That's kinda the point. If you don't have a reason you think is strong enough to convince them, then maybe you don't need one.
