I recently was eating at a restaurant and was cut by a broken glass. I recieved 5 stitches in my finger plus a tetnis shot. They are willing to pay for the doctor bills but say they do not have to pay anything else. I'm I being unreasonable in asking for more than just the doctor bills being paid?

If you were to suffer from a slip and fall that left you permanently injured, yes, you should receive more than just the doctor's fees.

If your ability to write, drive a car or play the flute has been irreparably altered and you cannot return to a normal lifestyle, then yes, you should receive more money.

If you healed and can use your finger and life goes on as normal, be happy you didn't receive a more severe injury, be grateful they paid the bills and go on with your life as usual. Only vindictive people out to take advantage of others would seek restitution in this case: would you ask for the chef or waiter to be fired for allowing a sharp piece of glass in your vicinity?

I'd like to know how you cut yourself so badly you needed 5 stitches...broken cup, cracked plate or too much alcohol? Were you served on a broken dish or did you break something yourself? It doesn't seem as though the restaurant owner felt they behaved dangerously or they may have offered more.

Yes, I think it would be unreasonable, and greedy in a way. People in general need to realize that accidents happen, that was nice of the restaurant to pay your bills, and its nice to see that you haven't ran to a lawyer to sue the restaurant for something that could have happened in your own home.

OMG, you got 5 dinky stitches in your finger. You aren't suffering and this hasn't affected your life in anyway. Stop looking for an easy payday. Yes, you're being completely unreasonable.

Oh let me guess. You experienced "pain and suffering."

Maybe a free meal or two, plus doctor bills. But if you're looking to get independently wealthy by suing the crap out of them, i think you're out of luck.

Yes, you are being a typical money-grubbing American. What else would they pay you for? It was an accident. Get over it.

how much more do you think you are entitled to? did you miss work? are you prevented from doing anything? since they are taking care of your doctors bills, what exactly are you expecting in way of payment? some type of damages?
