Your body would run off of fat and protein. However cutting carbs from your diet is not a healthy concept. Certain carbohydrates are important for storing and transporting energy with in the body. In addition they play major roles in cell to cell communication, the immune system, fertilization, pathogenesis, blood clotting, and development.

Sugars are digested first, then carbohydrates, then fats, then your body fat. If you don't eat, the body starts to cannibalise itself (yuck!). Also, if you starve yourself, then as soon as you do eat something, the body is in emergency survival mode, and will turn whatever you do eat into fat, so that you'll survive longer. If this is a diet question, then it's best to eat healthy foods regularly, rather than starving yourself, and if it's a science question, the body breaks down the simplest molecules first (i.e. sugars) then the more complex, and difficult to break down (carbohydrates - which are complex sugars-, then fats).

Hope that helps.
