It is a neuropeptide that induces nausea. In psychology, you could use it to induce nausea to a response (quote 1) or you could develop drugs that block it (quote 2) in order to eliminate its effect-- for example, it may be used to reduce cocaine-seeking behaviours.

According to one site, it is believed that it may cause fibromyalgia.
