Why does it seem like alot kids, and adults, these days have no sense of right or wrong? They only care about themselves and have no concern about hurting others ,physically or emotionally. Is it because we have turned into a society where we should be tolerant of everything? Every behavior has to be tolerated and bad people are having excuses made for them for their behavior.
Something is wrong when every fringe group out there has to yell out for attention, soon every month will be national "some culture" month, so many kids are born out of wedlock, etc..

William B, you don't get it. I knew there would be at least one person who would say something like you did. The fact that almost everyone else agreed with me, brings me great relief.
I am not judging anyone It is simply common sense. I love it when someone brings up slavery, something over 200 years old, as if it happened yesterday!

You hit it on the head. We have become indoctrinated in the misguided belief that "tolerance" is the highest virtue, if you want to call it that. If something is considered right for one but not the other, then it suggests that there is no absolute line where wrong is just plain wrong, no way around it.
The definition of tolerance has been meddled with. Tolerance means you will allow others to live peacefully even if you disagree with them, and you have just as much right to voice your opinion as they do. Today, we are not considered tolerant if we voice opinions contrary to other people. If you do not agree with them, you still have to encourage them in their decisions and celebrate their choices even if you are morally opposed to them.

I believe that our society has become so immoral because of our selfishness and attitude of self gratification as a nation. We buy our kids just about anything that they want. If we can't afford things we go and get credit cards and charge them. Then we get upset because we can't afford the payments. We also do this for ourselves as well. What kind of values is this teaching? Fulfillment on demand. Few people now of days teach their children or themselves to work hard and save their money and then purchase what you want. I want, I get is the mentality. Unfortunately this mind set ends up affecting all areas of our lives, including our morality.

Oh gosh. Don't get me started! I could talk all day about this. I see examples of this everywhere; friends, family, etc.......It can drive a person crazy and sometimes I get downright angry about it. But I have to remind myself (alot) that I have no control over them and the only control I do have is over myself. So, I try to do the right thing and make the best decisions in my life and not to cause harm to others.
Don't let it weigh you down; it only creates negativity in youself.

The problem is.... who are you to dictate decency? Who is to judge what is "appropriate?"

The majority of Americans used to think that slavery was okay, interracial marriages were wrong, etc. That was their definition of decency.

Maybe, just maybe, we should concentrate on our own family and stop trying to be the morality police for others.

I agree totally. This is what feminism has done to us. And believe brother... you better enjoy it while you can, because we are on the verge of civil war with feminists.
