Yes, I know newspapers are not really unbiased and they do sway left or right in the political arena. But should they be held to a higher standard and only give the facts when speaking about canidates and issues. Shouldn't people expect the press to be bipartisan?
I would love to hear why you would or would not like your papers to only state the facts and the issues rather then endorse and support individual canidates.

Once upon a time, there was responsible journalism that included ethical reporting. Both sides were to be presented and there was never to be any hint of where the reporter stood on an issue. It seems that 24/7 news has created an arena of entertainment instead of journalism. Schools don't teach mass media anymore... they teach acting and spin. It's disgusting! If this is how Americans want their news, I think the "reporter" should have to make disclosures of religion and political affiliation. At least then we would know if we are listening to news or spin. I am so very tired of having to scout six or seven newspapers and three or four newscasts to determine what is actually going on in the world. This is the one instance in which the information highway took a tragic turn. American news is no better than state sponsored news of Iran, North Korea, etc. for those who still remember a time when news was just that and nothing more. It didn't matter what newspaper you picked up or what newscast you tuned into... news was news, an impartiality that America was proud of.

I believe that we should always have a free society where people are allowed to report whatever they want for whatever their reasons. As soon as we decide what is moral or unmoral for people then we no longer have a free society. CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, The NY Times, USA Today and many others are definitely biased against conservatives. They are a liberal media intent on pushing their own agendas. Then their is FOX News and Conservative radio putting forth their opinions. People decide what they want and who is right. I am no expert, but the way we get our news has sucked for a long time. We have to have news now that is fair and balanced. Why? Why can't we just have the truth? I don't need 5000 peoples opinion on a subject. I can make up my own mind. We have too many people wanting to tear the nation apart for their own agendas and we have too few who want to mend it. News organizations are starting to realize that the public isn't as stupid as it used to be. People are calling them out on a lot of issues. If you want the right answers in today's news organizations then look to where the trend is going. People are tired of the old ways of reporting and they just want the truth.

since the beginning of or country papers have been biased on there political views ands story's. So it is a good idea to read multiple papers or articles when it comes to politics or simply find the paper that you most agree with. A lot of the time I like to read papers that are distributed Nation wide these papers have to be a little less partisan in order to sell papers.

Objectivity is impossible. It is better for the media to be out in the open about where they stand. Even facts are biased, because the reporter has to make a subjective judgment about which facts are relevant.

Freedom of speech... People do expect papers to be objective but they also understand when a paper takes a position...
