what measures can be taken to spread environmental awarenes in urban areas??
PS no posters, articles etc but something else that will really help to make a difference

Here's a project that we did locally. You will need to procure some funding and some help, though. Perhaps the local fire department and city council could help. Contact the EPA and set up a free home hazardous waste disposal day. We collected everything from old paint, to insecticides and pesticides, to expired prescription drugs. Then we categorized, recycled what we could (a whole bunch of the paint was used by the city to spruce up parks and fences, etc.), and disposed of the rest appropriately, with the really hazardous stuff shipped off for incineration. Just an idea.....

Look for Curitiba City in Brazil ... The city that i live ... is an example for sustainable city and nature respect ... very famous for projects for urban area and transportation
