I feed mine crickets and locusts and the occasional meal worm, but not too many as they are fatty, veggies cause alot of arguments, but never feed ice-berg lettuce, carrots can be fed as a rare treat broccoli and cauliflower should be avoided, different squashes are good, as are collard greens, green beans and peas, frozen veg can be used in an emergency but not as a staple diet as freezing takes out some of the nutrients.
Crickets should be dusted with a vit & min suppliment evey other day for a baby and every 4-5 days for an adult, i feed my 9 month old crix twice a day but as it gets older she wont eat as many and veg will be the main part of her diet, a calcium suppliment should also be given 2-3 times a week but not on the same day as vit&min suppliments.
I think thats about it, I've probably forgotten to mention something though.
I also have a cornsnake, royal python, boa constrictor and chilean rose tarantula.

OK... im not going to post some 50 page book like SOMEONE thought was needed... but I will give you a rundown as a reptile rescuer!!!!
First.. they need insects. twice a day as young lads, then cut down to once a day. The best staples are roaches ( no not the ones you get from not cleaning your house), crickets, superworms... NO MEALWORMS.. not healthy as they dont have a easy time digesting them.
Once you get them accustomed to salad, you really only need to have insects about every other day, but from birth should have fresh produce available at all time... I suggest going to www.beautifuldragons.com they have a great list of everything and how often it should be given... lettuce will not KILL THEM.. but shouldnt be used as an everyday staple, as it doing have much nutritional value to them...
Also.. make sure to dust the salad, insects and have an active UVA/UVB light along with good heat... otherwise they can develop MBD any more questions, just ask.

Mine have a mix of meat (crickets and locusts) and veg (lettuce - not iceberg, cabbage, brussels, carrots with leaves, dandelion leaves). I haven't had much luck with pinkies or pellet foods.
If you're green fingered and like to save a few bob there is a lady on ebay selling tortoise food seeds - its great and the money goes to a tortoise charity.

Well the best thing is fruit and insects. As someone stupidly said - Lettuce - NO, it can kill them so do not feed them that.
