First, did you enter their lottery? Second, NEVER open any attachment in an unsolicited e-mail, that the best way to get viruses. Third, no legitimate contest giving away that much money would announce it with an e-mail. Finally, if you STILL think it’s legitimate, call their number and have them send you a round trip ticket to the UK so that you can pick up your winnings. They can take the cost of the tickets out of the winnings. A side note, even since you opened the e-mail, you’ve just verified that your e-male address exists and you will start getting even more SPAM than before.

yes it's a scam, don't even open it.
That's one of the ways people are able to spread viruses on people's pc's.
If you don't know who the sender is it's not a good idea to open any email. Just delete it completely.

AU is not governed as we are here in the states in all situations which enables them to use 'shall we say different means of advertising' which of course can lead to a lot of immoral acts, hoping to one day be rich. Most of these situations are easy to spot. One minutes they'll be jumping up and down, so happy for you now that you've become a winner and shortly thereafter will be asking you for money to process etc. If you'd believe that you're a $1,000,000.00 winner if you'd only send me $10, well then,,YOUR THE BIG WINNER, (send me $10 please and tell all of your friends that I said they're winners too and to send their $10 to me as well.) lol

If you do not reside in australia and you have not signed up for such a thing then most likly it is a scam.
