Our laws are in place to keep anyone from getting absolute power over anyone else. The ability to take anyone away will always come back and bite all that at one time or another think it is a good idea. The best poem ever written explained the dangers best (and I ad-lib as I can't remember it exactly) -
First they came for the communists, but I was not a communist, so I did not care;
Then they came for the fascists, but I was not a fascist so I did not care;
Then they came for the Protestants, but I was not Protestant, so I did not care;
Then they came for the Jews, but I was not Jewish so I did not care;
Then they came for the Catholics, but I was not Catholic do I did not care;
Then, they came for me and there was no one left to care.

The true crime in all of this is the fact that the odds game is exactly what is being played here.
If you want to talk odds let us a talk about how likely you will be a person invovled in a terrorist attack. What are the chances that a dirty bomb will go off in your city. How likely is that you, Mr. Norfolk, Virginia or Ms. Silver City New Mexico will directly be affected by a terrorist attack in New York city.
Perhaps a better question is what are the chances that you may ever go to New York City.
The fact is, we were more offended then hurt by 9/11. But for the first time since Pearl Harbor the United States was of one mind. Our President and government showed exactly how unworthy they are of their positions of power in the actions that follow.
Instead of using the events of 9/11 to create a better energy policy, or better yet alternate energy policy, or closing down the border are humanistic and patriotic government decided that it was we, the people, who need to be punished for such acts.
The PATRIOT Act, anal probes at airports, mind-numbing propoganda, and credit checks to buy a cheese burger all were set in place so make us more secure. Then there are the wire taps, finacial database tracking(notice it is really easy to use your credit/check everywhere now), and two wars where our soldiers have lost as many people as were killed on 9/11.
On September 10th Osama bin Laden was one of the world's most wanted men, living in a cave, making videos for the kiddies. On September 12th bin Laden was the world's most wanted man, living in a cave, making videos for the kiddies.
But if AMerica is looking for someone to blame, a smoking gun, or a single incident then they need look no further then the closest mirror. Our government is to blame for allowing 9/11 yet they are still in power, the smoking gun was when we the victim were punished instead of the actors of the crime, and the incident was when we went out to the polls and gave everyone their job back after they used this catastrophe to empower themselves and cripple the will of the people.
America may be losing liberty as security measures increase. But the true reason our liberty is gone is our laziness.

jointly as you're making very valid factors which human beings might desire to be speaking approximately, i do no longer think of that they are prepared to take that threat. Ron Paul has slender threat of having the nomination. His help tops out around one 0.33 of conservatives no be counted what.
