No. The coast is around 125 miles southeast of San Antonio.

If you have a choice of beaches don’t go to Galveston. The further south you go in Texas the better the beaches and costal scenery are.

As for places to visit in San Antonio, try the zoo, Witty(sp?) museum, and of course the Alamo.

like my question, this answer does not answer, sorry, I am going to both SA and the beach and looking for answers also. I can not believe someone has not made this trip before. We are going in Nov. to Lackland and then on to coast for trip. Houston and Galveston. looking for a restrant on Galveston. Also wondering where to stay.
