When I was 10, my lil brother was 8. He climbed up in a tree...bout 12 feet. I told him to jump, that I would catch him. I missed. He broke his right arm and his collar bone. It hurt pretty bad.

Yes I was going to walk down the hall the other day and my two year old cam running up the hall and we were both about to enter the doorway at the same time. To keep from having a collision, i steped to the side and in steping to the side to MISS him, I hit the doorjam. I hit the doorjam with my shoulder and it hurt like crazy because it was so sudden. Having overcompensated to allow him through the door, I missed him so much that it hurt. ;)

Yes, my dear, beloved aunt. She was a wonderful person, and I miss her dearly. She died about two years ago. Sometimes I forget she's gone and I'll pick up the phone to call her, and then it will hit me that she is no longer here. I feel the pain of her departure all over again.

Yes, my special guy Tony who passed away unexpectedly last year. But right now, I am having some personal difficulties, and I really miss my Mom. She was my friend, and a constant source of support and encouragement. I could really use that right now.

Yes, I have a cousin who took his life about 12 years ago and it still hurts because it was so senseless. So many things come up where my natural reaction is to think "wonder how he'd feel about this" and he's not around to ask.
