Ok so my husband and I are so excited that I am pregnant! But I am not sure which kind of doctor I have to go to first. I just took the home pregnancy test and it said I was pregnant. So do I have to go to a regular doctor first or do I go to a Gyno? I am so excited! Woot! Woot!

Call your OB/GYNO. If you are not high risk, then they probably will not want to see you until you are close to 12 weeks along, but they will call in a script for prenatals for you right away. Congratulations!!

I would go to your regular doctor to confirm the pregnancy then set up an appointment with your OB/GYN. I'm not sure how hard it is to get an appointment with your OB but there is about a 2-4 week wait at the practice I go to so don't put it off!

I was unsure too at first. I didn't have a Gyno because my fertility doctor was also my Gyno and I wasn't going to her anymore. So, I went to my primary doctor. She recommended an OB, but that OB was so booked that she wouldn't be able to see for about a month and a half; therefore, I didn't go to her even though she was highly recommended by my primary doc. I just did my research and found someone who took my insurance and got lucky. My OB is GREAT!

Good luck and CONGRATULATIONS! w00t w00t!

Yes make an appointment with the OB. Tell them that you are pregnant and they will do all the stuff that you need to "verify" that you are pregnant. Then after that they will tell you everything that you need to know about being pregnant and when you have to go to the doctor. Congratulations!!!! And GOD bless

You need to find an OB-GYN.
This will be the doctor that delivers your baby, so ask around for good referrals and choose wisely.
Your first appointment will be very thorough, they will order blood work, perform a pap, check vitals, etc.
Congratulations!

you go to a ob/gyn. the regular doctor will just send you to one anyways so i wouldn't waste your time going to your regular doctor unless you want them to refer you to someone. just be sure that the one you get, you are completely satisfied with because it is very important for you to feel comfortable throughout you're entire pregnancy and you should't be ashamed to ask any questions. the ob/gyn i have is not all that great. i mean he knows what he's doing but he has a totally dry personality and doesn't act like he is willing to take the time with his patients and discuss things. he just answers my questions and tells me what's gonna happen at my next visit. he has no sense of humor. he's kind of like the actor ben stein. if you know who that is, then you can picture my doctor. lol. so just be sure you're happy with who you have.

You need to go to an OB-GYN. They will run tests and make sure everything is A-OK as the pregnancy progresses. Good luck and congrats!

Yes, you'll want to see a gynocologist or even a general practitioner. They will do a bunch of tests to check your blood type, check for anemia, STD's, stuff like that. They will also give you a prescription for prenatal vitamins because you need to start taking those right away! Congrats!
