I don't know much about it; however, I did watch a special within the last year on a news magazine where home schooled students were fighting to be allowed to play in public schools. The overall representation was that home schooled students are not allowed to participate in school sponsored sports. At least not in public schools.

I believe you have to attend the school to be eligible to play a sport at a school. Look into a homeschooling team. Sorry if schools could take the best or pick the best in your town that would not be fare to other schools and soon it would become a dirty sport. not one that is truly a school team .

Depends on your school district. You should look for a website for y our specific area and ask.
As for private schools. They can do what they want. But many Catholic schools offer after school programs as part of the CYO (Catholic Youth Organization). This means that anyone who joins the CYO can play in the after school sports or band or whatever.

you pay thirty-five dollars to the school you were supposed to attend and you are entitled to play at a public school if you are academically eligible. here is a fun fact... had you attended the school the state would give the school $1500.00. just like they get for every student per year.

Why don't you "home-sport" your child? I home-sported my two sons and it worked out just fine. Not only could I pass on my athletic skills, it ensured that they had minimal contact with the real world. Give it a shot and good luck!
