My computer is connected to a wireless router which is connected to the DSL modem. The DSL modem is connected to the phone line.

How to make a phone call using the phone line which the DSL modem is connected to? A software maybe?

Download SkyPe. I dunno the details, but others will hopefully help. You need a microphone or something like that.

Your current configuration will not allow you to make phone calls? I have a simular setup, a DSL Modem hooked up to a wireless Router, each computer has an installed Adapter, and the DSL Modem in hooked into our phone line. We are able to make and receive calls without a problem.

Now, when I used a different ISP and only used a modem, not a Router, I had to use a special tool on the phone line to be able to use the Internet and the phone at the same time.It is called a Filter and you get it from your ISP. You hook the filter up to each phone jack, then plug the phone line into the filter. The line which has the DSL hook up you put the filter on and the then hook up the DSL line in one side and the phone line in the other. Call your ISP company and ask them for the filters and for directions on how to properly install them. If you want to use a fax you will need a special filter for that too.

Good luck and have a nice day.

maximum cordless phones and instantaneous G alerts run on a similar frequency (2.4GHz). it would want to be that your cordless telephone thoroughly overpowers the router signal and disconnects your computer at the same time as it rings. try unhooking all of your cordless phones and calling your residing house from a cellular telephone. also try plugging your computer quickly into the router (assuming that it is presently operating on a instantaneous connection.) See if that fixes issues. If it does i advise replacing your cordless phones with one which runs both in the 900MHz or 5GHz decision. both are accessible everywhere that sells phones. If unplugging the phones does no longer fix it, something isn't set up wisely and it would want to no longer be your fault. if it is the case you want to communicate over with verizon. Your DSL might want to correctly be connected on a similar line as your telephone. i believe they filter out it, yet now and again the DSL might want to be hooked as a lot because this is personal line - (in basic terms as in case you had 2 telephone lines operating into your residing house.) the internet might want to correctly be operating because they have the filter out on there perfect, notwithstanding the phone thoroughly blocks and cuts off the internet signal. certainly verify the cordless telephone first, this is the most easy project with computers dropping information superhighway. also note that the microwave also places out 2.4GHz radiation, and it would want to be yet another source of interference. different units in this decision are bluetooth headsets. All of those might want to be subject matters, so if apparently that interference is your subject flow the router and computer so a concepts as conceivable from all of those units. solid success!! i am going to sense free to signify you extra in case you want it
