i have been swimming since i was like 5. all these ppl dont know what they are talking about!!! eat carbs the night before!!! because it takes time for it to digest so dont eat any carbs in the morning or itll just sit in your stomach and wiegh you down and make you tired. carbs are like spagettii and pasta and bread and all that good stuff. so eat that the night before and youll have tons of energy! but that morning eat something light. like oatmeal or a granola bar or FRUIT!

i'm on a intense college team so i comprehend the place you're coming from. The day in the previous the meet consume a great variety of carbs i.e. pasta. Get some stable protein too meat and eggs are constantly stable for that. in the previous you swim circumvent issues with lactates in them like dairy products. throughout a meet maybe some fruit, yet shop it ordinary. consume healthful and consume many times and additionally you may desire to be stable! additionally shop hydrated.

dont ear any thing heavy dear,
it will affect ur agility and performance during the event.
i recommend,, eat crab during the preivous night, and one enegry drink 3 hrs before the event, thats it,, if its a sprint event, try and keep ur self empty and just energy drink,
if its a long distance event,, eat 2 boiled eggs 1 hr before the energy drink. that will help u during the last 250 mtrs of finishing.
i dont mind a peg of brandy as well along with the enegry drink for sprint events,, u know y, it directly dissolves calaries in blood and these calories burn first, then ur start burnign ur calaries,, bu the time half even it over,, it will help u a lot ,, also of multi event meet,,
take care
good luck

A high-protein meal such as scrambled eggs, dry-cooked, and a bowl of fruit salad with a few seeds and a dash of lemon. Ignore the carb commentary, it takes longer to digest carbs.
I have to have carbs in the morning to wake me up, just like I need a cup of coffee and then a cup of tea. In the afternoon, a cup of coffee and a piece of fruit and some cheese peps me up. I'd recommend fish, but unless you want smoked salmon on a half-bagel with tomato and lettuce, I don't think anyone wants to eat fish in the morning.

It depends on who you are.
two days before a meat try to eat carbs
the day of the meet you could eat amost anything, depending on who you are. I tend to eat a bagel or cereal and a banana, and I know for a fact that Michael Phelps eats a bagal and oatmeal before every meet.
Try different things and see what helps you.

Night Before is what is really important. High Carb/Protein meal....spaghetti or beef/red meat....starches aren't bad either, like potatoes, etc. (just nothing fried or greasy) if you eat it that morning, it won't be digested to affect you
