Well in certain parts of the country you have to be educated in that field and then work under another licensed appraiser for a number of years. It's not that easy to get into, but they make some incredible amounts of money if they are hooked up with the right lenders.

Call appraisers in your area and ask them how to get in the field. Yes they make good money but also have expenses just as any business does. There are apprenticeship programs in most states
