Did anyone see her press conference on ESPN yesterday? She was interviewed on Mike & Mike this morning. A completely different story. Sounds like she's trying to blow smoke up everyone's butts!!

First she said he didn't see the tape because she was too upset to look at it. What in the hell kind of remark is that? She is the president of a major division 1A university. Who cares that you're upset? It's your job lady!!! Then she turns her story completely around this morning on Mike & Mike and said they "we" looked at the tape frame by frame to determine who did what. She never said whether the word "we" included herself. She went on to say that the one player that used his helmet in the fight was suspended indefinately but the one game suspension involving the rest of the players was okay with Miami. Are you kidding me? Those criminals should be in jail. At the very least be thrown off the team!!

Ms. Shalala is too interested in the financial aspect of this event rather then the crime itself. She therefore is not fit to be president of any college or university with that type of attitude. Of course Miami is not really a institution of higher learning, it's a sports factory. It's part of the NFL and MLB feeder program. What could a degree from this "school" really be worth?

Recall how Miami football was on life support about 10 years ago and both Shalala and Coker helped bring the university and the program back to respectability - until the melee Saturday night which made the program regress back to 1990.

Also remember that Florida International started the fight and the Miami players lost control - I blame the coaching staff and the entire administration for this melee. Maybe Miami needs to seriously consider axing football - In 1997, Boston University axed football and spent that money towards improving facilities and providing scholarships for many different sports. Times have changed and such behavior exhibited by Miami and Florida International is unacceptable and the punishment meted out by the ACC is below acceptable. I think the Big East would have given Miami players a tougher punishment - maybe suspend them for the rest of the season and the bowl games. Now I'm starting not to like the ACC....

I think the Miami players did them self in, and that may be enough punishment. You ask me why...well when the drafting season comes around the whole program will be looked over. They use to have 12-13 people picked a year. Now it's like 2 or 3. So...the univ. doesn't want to go out and punish people so be it. When there school gets looked over that's their problem. Shalala is an idiot. I saw M & M on the TV this morning and said damn. That woman just fugged herself over after she said that. If you're going to lie, remember your original story. STUPID!

Mike Golic had her on the ropes this morning on the phone. I can just imagine seeing her squirming like the rat she is. I wish Golic would have ripped her even more. She was part of the Bubba Clinton left wingers. They always have an excuse to justify their actions. The University should throw her the hell out along with those thugs they call "student athletes"!! What a joke.

the 1 game suspensions she issued (actually the ACC issued them she just agreed on it) are a joke. The players should be suspended for at least a game that matters not upcoming Duke. Miami has always had thugs and to be honest with you i hope the program goes down the drain. Good luck recruiting with that dark cloud over the program

I've learned to just ignore anything said at a press conference. The truth is never told, everything is spun to make bad situations sound good, and rumors are always denied...and then proven to be true days later.

It's less that she has no credibility and more that she has no backbone...anyone who was in the middle of the fight vs FIU and wasn't acting as a peacemaker should be off the team the whole season, with the stompers and helmet swingers expelled from school.

What do you expect? She is the pres. of Miami. That school hasn't had credibility for a long time.
